UNESCO's Memory of the World Register: Ernst Hopp Collection

In 2013, the Institut für Personengeschichte acquired a collection of drawings made by 11/12-year-old Ernst Hopp (born 1904), depicting scenes from the First World War between 1915 and 1916; these were a gift to his teacher, Egon Langheinrich. This collection of drawings was added to the UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register in 2025, together with thematically related collections from 16 other partner institutions.
